I'm fine with MTLs if something's gone untranslated for 2+ years. Stuff that old rarely gets touched by pros so MTLs are the best we could realistically hope for.

I wish there was a separate website where people could upload MTLs and collaborate on MTL research, similar to what Hugging Face is for image generation stuff. I don't think they belong here necessarily but they're often at least better than nothing - which is what we currently get for easily >90% of doujins. It fucking pains me how many go untranslated. "Tokinobutt - 搾精しゅきしゅき姉妹" for example is absolute fucking gold but only the first chapter has been translated so far - and meanwhile we're positively flooded with NTR/tranny shit on an hourly basis because those degenerates are willing to pay anything to satisfy their fetishes and translators just want to get paid. I'd *prefer* an actually good translation, but being able to at least make vague sense of what's going on would still be a huge improvement over nothing at all.

The argument "if there's a bad translation then nobody will do a good translation" doesn't really hold water if MTLs are truly unreadable. And a home for research and collaboration on the subject would help to accelerate eventually getting us to a point where they're "good enough" and mostly only need to be edited for context stuff like who the speaker is. This is a task even an English-only like me can do perfectly well.

Look at how good Google Translate already is for French, German, etc. These languages obviously have a lot more in common with English than Japanese does, and Japanese grammar is fucky enough I've heard it's often vague even for a native speaker, but Google Translate is still good enough to understand intent of web articles most of the time.

The Asashio doujins this one's related to have killed trillions; I'm glad this exists even if it's total shit. Kouchaya lolis are peak hentai.
