I really like the... fluidity(?) of bodies in Himekuri's works, like in Motsu Aki, I think comics should lean into their ability to portray things in a more intense, surrealistic way. But damn, the fetishes in Himekuri's work is weird, one panel is great and then in the next one you're trying to comprehend what you just read.

I'll admit, as someone who had a selfish, childish, and cultist mother who was somehow still obsessed with "motherhood", I can't relate to desiring motherliness. I only have bad associations ... but damn if potato salad's art isn't always great in a way that other artists just don't hit.
