If I remember correctly, Nell said that she'd scale back on the orientation play, not abandon it completely. Which would've been fine with me, if she didn't also try to wipe the old pictures of her OCs getting LGD'd. Those were some of her best work!

First: why is that a problem?, second: they are still out there on the internet even here on the panda so it just affects her immediate fans and third: she really didn't stop making lgd content in the end.

Orientation Play (OP) is basically having sex with someone you're not sexually attracted to on a base level, like say a straight guy having gay sex, which is the most common form of OP.
LGD, or as I once called it "Lesbians Getting Dick," is another form of OP, which should explain itself. It's probably the least common type of OP, since there's a certain stigma around basically forcing lesbians to have sex with men. It brings to mind unsavory IRL behaviors. And truth be told, OP is often quite rapey... but it can also be used as a sort of sexual awakening or experimentation, so it's not inherently rape.

@zenith45 Not to say it IS inherently bigoted, but real life things that real life people do can be bigoted, even to the point of inherentlyness. i wish things being bigoted was limited to unreality that’d be great!
(Also the comment referred to lgd specifically rather than orientation play as a whole. which at least has the through line of “specifically focused on being ‘irreverent’ about lesbians + its a clumsy porno term that doesn’t even make sense bc futas/dickgirls aren’t usually counted despite The Penis” in that arguments favor.) There's absolutely no difference between a man dicking a straight guy and a lesbian, both are the same kind of rape to the power of two. I'm a guy and I've narrowly avoided having a bunch of guys "sexually awakening" me. Still feel sick about it years after. If they did it, I can easily see myself becoming suicidal.

That said... when will people finally stop conflating virtual content and porn with real life? People who use images to unironically spread fucked up ideas are easy to spot, a quick look at their follows, accounts they retweet, and a few of their own posts is enough.

Social media made it clear that way too many people lack any sense of nuance. I feel silly having to say this, it should be obvious stuff. Virtual content >cannot< be "inherently bigoted", only the bigger context can, the usage of content. If you think violence in movies and games is fine (it is), but something like LGD isn't, you need to re-check your logic, since that doesn't add up. Research clearly indicates the only effect "controversial" content in virtual form decreases its occurrence in physical form. And conversely, a lot of pro-gay and diversity stuff has been used as arguments by bigots.

So add a simple "Don't try this at home" disclaimer, add a trigger warning and blur the thumbnail maybe, and be done with it. People who attack you over your content will never be satisfied. You delete it, they'll say this confirms you are evil and feel guilty. Also, the moment you start deleting stuff because of attackers is the moment you give them control, and it invites even more attackers. A huge lot of people who complain never genuinely cared about the content in question, the control is all they want. Never acknowledge them and they will hopefully move on to some easier target.

Sorry for the rant, but I think it's important we stand our ground. Obviously this isn't all about LGD, I just really hate seeing artists wipe their content to appease some jerks. I can do shit about it myself, so if you agree, remember to remind others, and maybe speak up when an artist you follow is attacked. The more obedient artists there are, the higher the pressure on those who post content someone finds "inherently bigoted".

We can't let wrongthink be a thing.
