Technically every story takes away attention from some other story because nobody can read the entire Internet at once.

I for one think that using slop to illustrate text stories is acceptable as long as the story is the point (and for denial fetish, it is), unfortunately it does poison the fun for people that hate AI indiscriminately, so no solution is perfect.
