Inverted hearts signal she's crazy and yandere, as if her love was flipped.
Usually multipanel sequences show some sign of time passing, to convey "they fucked a lot". Here they don't because there's no day cycle in the game.
Pixelated hearts because he has become a game inside the game. Mita transforms players into cartridges.

Or at least that's how I'm interpreting all of this.
