Filenames
Where applicable, double-check that the order of the images is correct.
It is best to rename files for consistency and ease of sorting; 3-digit padding is recommended (e.g. 001.jpg, 002.jpg, etc.) To rename many files use software such as Bulk Rename Utility or Advanced Renamer.
Filenames can only contain alphanumeric characters, hyphens, and underscores. Any non-ASCII characters will be discarded.
The system may or may not accept such files without any error messages. Check the outcome in the pre-publish screen after adding the files. Non-ASCII filenames inside of uploaded archives will result in mojibake and may lead to missing files without any error.
Keep folder names if they contain useful meta information, and split with underscores or hyphens.

If you manually sort, use adobe lightroom.
There are other pieces of software as well where you click and drag, then tell it to append the number to the file name.
But do not use windows explorer to rename them manually, it will take forever if the images are stripped of their original filename and metadata date/time photo was taken taken.
