Ryuta Amazume, she is a genius. Only a genius to take clichés as tentacles and gender bender and make a great story out of it.
It's realy not a story about gender bender or tentacles actually. After reading this I got a feeling that it was about something else. I think that the best way to describe this one is as "a story of a boy discovering sex/sexuality with elements of si-fi/horror witout being really a si-fi/horror story" (aarrgh! this is dificult!).
In my language -- I'm brazillian -- there is a classification in literature for this type of story, something like "fantastic realism". I don't know if this genre has a name in other languages.
Anyway this is a excelent story if you like to see clichés used in a intelligent manner or the work of Ryuta Amazume. Personally for me it's hard to find a work of her that I don't like, even when she touchs subjects that I not quit fond of -- like gender bender. She is really, really talented as a mangaka.

P.S.: Just a curiosity: for quite some time I've know Ryuta Amazume as being a female mangaka -- since everybody told me that -- but some sites have it different. Can someone enlight me? :)
