They were obviously best friends, But now one has become a cruel hunter(or predator) and the other an unarmed prey.
If it hadn't been for that prank, I believe they wouldn't have ended up like this.

Making Gura thoroughly docile is the best but almost unachievable idea. Isolating her is so cool-blooded of her friends, and making her ignorant of vore is practical. Doing these is friends' onus to prevent disaster happening, but where the disaster comes from, only is the Gura. Human beings regard vore as a penchant, but animals regard vore as just a way to prey.
