Did large image sets help out with this, or did it require a bit more editing manually for correct hands, feet, etc.?

I did maybe 600 images and used only 10% of them for this comics. Some of them required minor fixes, but I just use spot healing brush in Photoshop.
I see many galleries with thousands of similar pictures and don't understand who watches them, they all look the same.

Although now I am curious which format people will like more - comic strips or single pictures, because I think many people look it from phone and single picture is better, though comics have more story on single page.

You're asking whether it's about individual images or a full story.
Definitely a coherent story.
I also don't understand why people upload so many similar images — what you're doing is exactly the right thing, in my opinion.
