genuinely why go through the effort to do this? Like is there one guy out there like "I can't get off to this unless there's a version WITH the angry vein on the forhead and the motion blur but NOT any text or rimlighting" ? all this does is the comic unreadable.

I don't know if naruti has explicitly said this, but what I am imagining is happening here is that bittercream sends out a photoshop document that has multiple layers that can be turned on or off to basically allow patrons to make their own custom version. You can't upload a PSD to exh so naruti would then be making every possible version of a page depending on how many layers can be turned off or on. That would account for why some different versions may only change based on small details like water/sweat droplets or lighting affects; it all just depends on what bittercream made on a separate layer and can therefore be toggled. Of course, it's entirely possible that bittercream does make every possible version as a separate png and naruti is not actually assembling each "unique" version, but this is basically what would I would do if I had the PSD and wanted to make sure every possible version of a pic is available for others to see, regardless whether anyone wants it. Apologies if people have said this before in other comment sections on naruti's pics, but I don't recall having seen it before and I felt like this is a possibility worth bringing up.
