This is a look into the regular workings of Level 6. It all comes together in Morning Routine Pt. 3 - I promise everything will make sense then. Probably. Maybe. Actually, fuck it, nothing ever makes sense anyway around here, so I ain't promising shit.
I realize this may sound deranged, given the subject matter... but I am having a lot of fun XD. This sort of shit is why I'll never be able to run for public office.
The dialogue for the tortured girls is so strange to me. These women have been amputated, mutilated, and tortured for years ("1253 days on level 6", and who knows how many on previous levels) yet they're cracking jokes? I guess it's a style choice for this to be a partial comedy, but it feels like the plight of these women is meaningless when they're not exuding absolute misery and despair which is what I'd expect of any sentient being in their predicament.
@Vadginator - You raise a good point. This is something that I've put a fair amount of thought into. There are a bunch of justifications I could use to defend the 'feistiness' of the Level 6 Inmates, even after (as you say) literal years of insane torture. 1. Only Inmates who retain a sense of sense through Level 5 (the dog level) are brought to Level 6, ensuring that easily broken bitches are sifted out. 2. There's a lot of 'interaction' with the Inmates, ensuring that they are kept mentally acute and reactive - becoming dull and apathetic would lead to more torture. 3. Gallows humor is a way to fend off fear (I'm a big fan of Llabmik's stories, and his characters often do this - see Tiff in 'Yakuza Snuffbabes'). 4. Each Inmate has different coping mechanisms for their situation - Pornstar would be trying to suck up to Brenda, Cleo would be cataloguing the experience internally, Tits would be lost in a ball of miasmic rage, etc.
At the end of the day, though, I'm just doing what I find fun XD. I find it dull to only torture functional sacks of meat - though there are certainly Inmates who qualify as such (see Piss Bucket). I appreciate that my Inmates stretch the suspension of disbelief to the breaking point, but I just wouldn't be interested if it were otherwise. Thanks for the feedback!
Humans are extremely resilient and adaptable. Once the initial shock wears off, their situation becomes the new normal. People who live in iron lungs are still able to crack jokes and have a good time.
@EthicalSadist - Thanks for the response. I suppose that makes sense. Thank you also for the art. Extreme torture without any blood is my jam. Algolagnia got me hooked on it.
