Hey All, welcome to Bartoon's Recurve! This is a future world where plastic poisoning has shifted the population to 90% men. There was a global catastrophe, but a medical breakthrough occured. It's being implemented on the world. And the government found their "guinea pig" that could also act as their mouthpiece. They need billions of men to accept this, and this is the first step towards mass adoption.

This is a prologue to set the tone for the Recurve series. The prologue is SFW, but the following chapters will not be. Based on what seemed to resonate with audience, I'm going to go much more slow into the gender bender (the main niche). The first two chapters will be vanilla NSFW type pages. With the gender bending happening around chapter 3 or 4. I really want to set up everyone's motivations and why everyone is doing what they do in the story.

Took some of your all advice from my first attempt. There's a lot of exposition, but trying to tell the story more with images. It's quite different from the last version. I'm using better image generators for the SFW images, and comfyui for the NSFW. Feel like I'm getting the hang of photoshop.

The fuzzy ghibli-ish style of the ai you are using, is in my humble opinion absolute trash. Its the most generic style and it feels out of focus somehow.

@ast4 yea. I'll probably just use Grok or GPT for landscapes and backgrounds going forward. I'm trying to setup my own comfy ui setup for all the NSFW images coming up

And you lost me. We know plastic poisoning causes a reduction in testosterone, so how are they all becoming men? Let alone resisting? Not to mention it affects women too.

I think a slight adjustment will fix this. Instead of microplastics being the direct cause of the men becoming 90% of the population. Let it be the population collapse itself be the reason. Microplastics cause population collapse. Population collapse causes government instability, which opens a timing for the more violent groups to wreak havoc across the board. In this time healthy fertile women become extremely valuable, leading to women in general to being hunted down, causing even further reduction of the woman population.

All that havoc and destruction then gives the perfect excuse for absolute government power and why the number of women dipped so much harder than men. It also explains why the men have hardened up into manly men. It also gives the government good reason to have control over the remaining female population.

Next problem though, why are they not just using bag/test tube babies? Or even cloning? Why do the infinitely harder process of changing the sexes? We are already on the verge of doing the first 2 over sex change.
For this problem, I would tie it back into main problem. There is a world of 90% men and no prospects of natural sexual relief. So while the tech might be near there for the other options it doesn't solve it fast enough or at all for those in the now. Potentially causing another governmental collapse and possibly the whole human race this time.
This pressure allows for ethics to be thrown out the window. Which could allow for unethical experiments and it just so happens that gender change is the breakthrough that happens first and with the ability to solve the immediate concern of a second collapse.

Then comes my 2 final problem with the story. Convincing billions of men? And a single nation state?
There was a population collapse, and mass conflict (even with your shorter time frame). There is only 8 billion people on the plant now. And that is on the planet. The only nations with a population over a billion is China and India. The next closest is USA and they only have 350~million. In spite what people may want to think, there is no way after such catastrophic events would a singular world power would arrive. At best you would have the current powers keeping their current territories. Just looking at history, this holds true across time. Like when Rome collapsed or The British Empire. They broke into smaller power structures and competed with each other.

So first, I wouldn't mention any hard numbers. I'd stick with percentages and vague language around such numbers. Then this also feeds back into the why gender bender tech. The tech is being rushed because whichever nation state solves the population problem first will gain global dominance. Then is also allows for the pacification of enemy nation states if tech becomes deployable.
Also, you are already in preparation of having friendly females assisting in the conversion, so just make it one of the many males that would willingly volunteer. Because we all know there would be plenty of men who would want to convert, but never enough. But more importantly, they wouldn't be good enough for the desired propaganda. You need an unwilling participant to become willing for max effect of the propaganda.

So you have the willing convert "help" the unwilling convert, creating the illusion of desire for the conversion. This then gives you narrative freedom to allow the unwilling character to stay unwilling to the end, or become willing (whether by force or not).

Then my final is the ghibli art. If you are trying to create a high tension felling and the feeling of desperation, the art just kills any sense of it. It is way to whimsical to feel anything other than silly when trying to get dark.

Take all, some or none of what I have said. Just make what you think is best. If you get too lost in the opinion of others about YOUR art, you will lose the ability to create YOUR art. Best of luck.

Hey @masterzelda123 thanks for the comments! There's a ton of good reasons there. Maybe as I expand my ai skill Ill come back and revisit this prologue. It's mostly just setting the stage. I want to get to the story part of this. For now I'm using civit but I'll be moving to comfy soonish.
