Honestly wasn't a fan of the whole sports manga arc and characters straight up telling to the reader their motivation since it comes off as clunky. The only interesting part was Moka struggling with her sexual attraction to the scumbag ex boyfriend and having trouble separating sex from love. I think this manga's strength is in dealing with the characters' messy sexual hook ups and the interpersonal conflict arising from that. I liked both Moka's and her ex's obsession with sex in this arc but the tennis game fumbled it a bit. I hope the future chapters will be more messed up tbh
Author continues to respect the character tropes, that's a relief. It was starting to bother me how long it was taking for this "permission to approach Moka is the gamble" situation to ultimately be solved by the fact that she would have the final say. The way Riku was acting like he had ntr plot armor on seemed so out of place for this story, I feared events would speedrun suspension of disbelief out of the window.
Now, the trio's awareness of Moka makes for a promissing followup arc.

@goonamancer This is a slice-of-life story. therefore arcs will have many different elements in them. Sorry it was a messy NTR fetish or dysfunctional queer/BDSM obsessive romance type of story. It's okay for a story to explore and go in a direction that makes sense for what background stories have been developing with characters. They are at a tennis camp, why would there not be at least one tennis match that is focused on? The match is just a vehicle for character development.
@dimanganime It's a seinen slice-of-life story. moving slow is somewhat the default speed here. From where Ueno started to what he has achieved now, 60+ chapters feel on point. The story isn't being padded by something more cliche or lazy like "dense MC cannot perceive emotions and affections." Good authors aren't concern with "respecting character tropes" because they don't write with either the obsession with or with avoiding "tropes." It's why they can make a character 3-dimensional without it being contrived. The ay Riku acted wasn't out of place. He's a guy that is dealing with his own baggage from his past. He is a guy that is an example of the same themes Ueno, Moka, Chisaki, and many more characters will strive for. Change, grow, and move beyond their past so that it doesn't become a cage that robs them of real happiness. It's why Ueno extended that sentiment about Moka's development to be something Riku should do too.
