Fun book, and a real blast from the past. Art seems to be based off the manga version of these characters rather than the anime ones. There's even references for minor characters we rarely see, like the Student Council President's friend or the class's Teacher. A surprising amount of work went into this series, especially the backstory and worldbuilding. The hidden magical society and magical school, and witches having restrictions from operating in public and having noble families with politicking between them is surprisingly intricate.

Of all this author's works, this is the one I always hoped would get a sequel focused on that aspect in addition to the romantic comedy and ecchi he's obligated to throw in to widen the demographic appeal.
