It's definitely a machine translation, but i don't think there is another (read: better) translation yet, so i think plenty of people will appreciate it.
Many asian languages also do not have gender pronouns at all, or use them in different ways from the english language. A chinese translator may not know the right pronoun, and might default to masculine ones as a default. That's like a non-german translating something from english into german and wondering which article to use for each 'the.' In that case, machine translation would likely get it right, but still, hard to complain when the relevant distinction may not even exist in the translators native language.
