I mean, he has a point. It's almost like there's some singular being deciding how things turn out for these two instead of random happenstance. But that would be absurd XD
Ok so no repercussions for her eating him is stupid. I'm sorry but she should not get away scot free for her actions, she should be punished for eating him.
I genuinely can't believe there'll be no repercussions for what Lily did. So now its clear she always knew Lyle loved her...yet despite that she stomped on his feelings not once but twice. She jumped into bed with the prince (she even forgot about Lyle halfway through), and then just cheerfully killed him no questions asked, all while basically gaslighting him into thinking it was his fault for deciding to leave without even telling her...when he was obviously heartbroken after what SHE did.
The author is free to write what they want of course, but man, is it depressing when an author actually tries to justify downright evil with the facade of the character being "naive" or "genuine".
