After *Paradise*, where Laliberte trolled a lot of people by making them believe he was actually going to take a risk with his story, only to later say, "All my fans like NTR, I can't do anything else," he basically admitted not only that he isn't capable of making his own creative choices, but also that he'll be stuck doing NTR forever, even if he wants to innovate.

And the result is *SPIRAL*.

There's no effort to properly introduce or flesh out the characters and their backgrounds beforehand. Instead, we rush straight into a story that barely makes any sense, where the wife thief, despite supposedly being a strong woman, throws herself at the first dick that comes along without questioning anything.

Even for an "NTR" hentai, I genuinely struggle to see where the NTR actually is here. And as hentai, the sex scenes are becoming increasingly repetitive and indistinguishable from one another...

I really get the impression that he wants to do something different but is terrified of losing his "fanbase," so he ends up delivering a mediocre story that he doesn't even seem interested in writing himself.

At this point, I think that unless this author takes a short break, steps back, and tries to change things up, he's destined to join the growing list of creators whose stories simply end up boring their readers.

I think the problem here isn't a lack of innovation but the writing being stale as fuck. NTR is one of those genres like mindbreak, TSF, or corruption, where you COULD just cram it in for extra spice but you actually need to do the writing legwork to make it a promenient part of your story - and even more effort to make it a GOOD part at that.

There was absolutely no buildup to Kei and Eve's relationship before th cucking starts beyond the "southern sea yacht wedding", which is a big part of what makes netorare work as a genre - the intermingling feelings of loss, shame, and anger mixed with undeniable arousal. Why would I care about Eve being stolen away from Kei when there was barely any connection between them? At least if it didn't end up with a bogstandard "cuck gets humiliated and forced to watch as the bull proves himself superior in every way" ending I could at least give it some props for trying something new, even if the writing still isn't great overall.
