It's certainly not the AI translation that was posted here almost a year back, though. Nor can I find a decensor that would've been taken from another language translation, so... effort was put in? Do I say good job...?

Pitou isn't a guy though. Pitou technically might not be a girl either. Pitou's gender is purposely left ambiguous by the author. The author has gone in length to not give Pitou a gender.
Pitou for all we know could just be genderless. Could also be purely male or female.
That's all there is too it.

Now of course you can headcanon that Pitou is a guy, as you seem to have done, but that's all on you.

Personally, I'm quite fine with Pitou being thought of as a girl (as I love cat girls and my first thoughts tend to be thinking of Pitou as a girl, has a female VA too anyway....).

Another character that doesn't have a specifically stated gender is Kilua's youngest sibling. Who was born in a male body but acts and dresses as a girl. Alluka is again, stated specifically by the author that they're never going to confirm one way or another what gender Alluka is / identifies as / physically is. As none of that matters to the story. Only thing that matters to the actual story is that Alluka is loved by Kilua and is his precious sibling. UNLIKE Pitou though, there IS some official media that states that Alluka is male (because they were born as a biological male). Pitou again has no official media that states their gender (other than mistranslations in English because English likes to set pronouns, the original Japanese never once states anything specific, always using the standard gender neutral terms).

Unlike Pitou, who they take pains to avoid giving any gender to, Alluka does technically have their gender explicitly stated. It's just inconsistent depending on who is talking about them.

Most of the Zoldycks use masculine terms such as "otouto" and "musuko" to refer to Alluka, while Killua specifically uses feminine terms like "imouto" and has even explicitly states Alluka to be a girl(Alluka wa onnanoko). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CX1OilNRN6U
