Spoiling this because fuck NTR, they ultimately break up. Mako barely changes throughout the story, but never really reflects on how terribly she handled everything in their relationship, just feeling a little jealous or bad as the story goes on. The MC decides they should break up because he wanted to stop relying on her and show his 'cool" side, whatever the fuck that means in this context. I assume the idea is he didn't want to show his lame side by choosing to stay with her despite being as repulsive to her sexually as a slug.

There's a 5 year time skip and the MC is still hung up on her, thinking he'd have regretted either choice, and the bartender he's talking to asks him what he'd do if he met her again, and he says he'd be more honest or something. Then he immediately runs into her at a vending machine a moment later. They awkwardly greet each other, then the story ends.

Listen someone needs to tell Japan. If you like NTR as a sexual fetish, then fine. It 'works' there because the story and characters can both be dogshit because in porn stories in general, you don't have to like the characters because they're only here to facilitate sex scenes. The story can be nonsense, just get from one sex scene to the next. But Netorare CANNOT work in a fucking mainstream story. It's incompatible.
