AZUKI follows Shao, a sharp, guarded girl from the Alley whose world shatters when her sister Rei disappears during a relic-smuggling run in a fantastical realm known as the Garden. Scared and desperate for answers, Shao is forced into a dangerous pact by crime boss Zero and becomes a reluctant relic hunter — exchanging goods for information she needs to find Rei.

Shao’s search drags her across the Garden, a sacred land separated from the Alley by a series of gates accessible only through the elusive red beans. Wielding an ancient water blade that resists her, Shao must battle mercenaries, zealots, and elite warriors whose powers push her to the edge. Trust doesn’t come easy. But surviving alone will be impossible.

The deeper Shao goes, the darker the truth becomes. Rei isn’t just missing — she’s been transformed into something else entirely. And the people hunting relics aren’t just after power: they’re preparing to sever the bond between two worlds forever. If they succeed, the Alley and the Garden will be forever divided, and everyone Shao has ever known, on both sides, loses everything.

Now Shao is caught in a brutal race toward her sister, fighting enemies who grow stronger with every step — and facing the terrifying possibility that when she finally finds Rei, she may have to fight her too.
