There really needs to be a higher quality and properly scanned reupload. It has really big historical significance. (It's also over 30 years old, so probably very fragile.)
This book is essentially the creator of YuYu Hakusho's cry for help.
The story is, 2 weeks before Comiket 46, YuYu Hakusho abruptly ended.
Yoshihiro Togashi had been having chest pains from lack of sleep and would soon have permanent health issues because of creating YuYu at the feverish pace of 17-24 pages a week.
He had been forced by Shonen Jump to extend the ending beyond where the story should have ended in the Suisei (Black Chapter) arc. It was a 6 month extension with the 3 demon kings arc. Yoshihiro seemed to have hated doing more YuYu, especially with his declining health. He was 28 at the time. So he had to bullshit his way through the arc and started writing a very controlled new twist "ending" where everything about YuYu's entire storyline could never be followed up. He basically made the entire premise of the series a total wash. Even having certain parts greatly hinting he's talking to the audience to tell us to fuck off and find another series.
He drew (sketched) the final chapter of YuYu in 14 hours and submitted it.
The anime retcons this ending, but Yoshihiro was done and Yoshihiro had to take a hiatus to recover. He would come back with an anti-YuYu comic called Level E, before going on to make his magnum opus.
Hunter X Hunter
This little doujin was a little over of just 2 weeks after he submitted final pages of YuYu Hakusho.
In it, he gave hints of what his life had been during this time and apologized to the readers for "being selfish".
20 years later when fans were asking for a sequel to YuYu, he came back with a short chapter.
TLDR - 8 pages of "Almost everyone in YuYu died."
This doujin was from a author that at the time was sickly, incredibly stressed and frustrated, and needed an outlet.
He had been taking many hiatuses since so his health would recover.
He's over 60 now. He's been been drawing Hunter X Hunter since the late 1990's. He's currently laying in bed drawing the latest chapters. He has not been able to sit down in a chair to draw for 2 years.
He has 3 alternate endings for Hunter X Hunter written up in case he dies before he can complete his series.
