I expected something twisted or crazy even funny but this is pretty simple.
Did you run out of imagination (or weed) Dowman Sayman?

@tscecest
Of course is good, I'm not complaining it just surprised me.

@altofinale
It's pretty interesting your interpretation, but come on men! I only wanted to do a funny comment, my intentions were not complain of this. I've read all his works and I like them because in only few pages he can do an interesting plot and a fabulous history.

This stuff's fine, too. He doesn't need to do crazy every time, and besides, it's a nice story.

I thought how how he kept on mentioning his new plasma tv is hilarious :)

I liked this story. Simple, sweet, and a good story of self-fufilling prophecy (or "premonition" in this case).

Not all Dowman Sayman's stories are 'acid'-trips &/or mind-twisters. Quite a few are as simple and of good quality like this.

Simple works often carry the greatest meaning. As much as Dowman Sayman prides himself in off-the-wall humor and over-the-top writing, his works almost always carry a message, and at times the best way to do so is through a simple tale of a man and a woman.

In this case, it's another collision of "want" versus "need," although at a much more tangential take. In the obvious sense, the doctor just wants to go home to watch the plasma screen tv he purchased the other day and the girl, gifted with the power of premonition, feels a natural compulsion, simply, a need, to be with him, to be his soul mate. What makes this interesting, however, is the fact that the girl may not even be psychic.

The purpose of the facility is unknown; the first and only mention of the facility's purpose is to "unlock [the girls'] power," or in a broader sense, to be able to control it or to increase the already-present powers' potential. What's more, the second doctor adds "because, girls want to know." It's heavily suggested throughout the work that the in the facility want to know if they have the ability to predict the future, and if so, what their future is going to be.

Note, however, that it's never explicitly stated that the girl has the power to predict her future; all that's said is "the girl's test results... look pretty good." But a test for what? The lack knowledge of what the facility does and the lack of knowledge as to what the tests are indicate that story is actually told through the perspective of the girl. The audience only sees her dreams and her thoughts; all other bits of conversation are said aloud and most likely within earshot of a patient provided a comfortable bed and open access to other patients around her (implied through her conversation with another girl about her age, page 6).

Her visions of her and the doctor can thus be explained as dreams rather than premonitions - in the last panel, it is noted that she was allowed to exit the facility, but she had nowhere to go, implying that she either disassociated herself with her own family or she ran away. In either case, given that she looks fairly young (usual Dowman Sayman heroines are usually teenaged), her vision of the "ideal man" was distorted by her time in the facility, and instead she began to project her fantasy onto the one man she had constant contact with.

Whether they were dreams or premonitions, however, was ultimately inconsequential. She was proactive in that she took the first step in approaching the doctor herself, thus making a future, be it written in stone or a dream she holds onto and believes in, a reality.

The real collision, and thus, the real question of "want vs. need" comes from within ourselves as an audience: do you simply want the apple and watch it as it goes in sequence from being caught to being eaten, or do you need the apple so much that you catch it for yourself?

tl;dr: who you gonna call? ghostbusters!

edit:
I never said you complained about it haha

Wait, what? I thought it was pretty obvious the testing facility's purpose was to find potential advanced methods of Ghostbusting...

Man, Dowman Sayman draws breasts really well in my opinion.
Oh wait, I can't say that. I have to talk about literary analysis and weed. What am I doing?

That's how Dowman gets you. Came for the tits, stayed for the wtf.

Tangentially related: Goddamn, I hate that "You can't vote on this comment anymore" system.

If a quarter of the hentai out there had half the story of Dowman's works, I swear I'd never leave my room. His stories are way too good for just 4 or 8 pages. I don't even need to fap, it just warms my heart up. And also the wtf factor.
