Yet, I find the whole idea of eating other people extremely sad. Especially after reading "Man after man: anthropology of the future".

Ok.
The now female detective gets saved by the employee in the lab.
The inspector gets bitten by a snake and taken to the lab.
Before or after this the employee tries save a another girl but eats her and bumps the rest by the river.
The inspector is now a robot and tries to solve the "murder" of the half eaten girl by the river.
During the afire, the female detective gets found out as am escapee from the lab and is eaten in the restaurant.

Actually, I think the girl in the restaurant at the end is the one the police were looking for. Since they hadn't yet "found any trace of the body" it probably wasn't the one at the riverbed. The detective woman escapee is still alive and well.

The detective woman who says she loves the inspector "doesn't have an appetite" also has a brand from the facility. She was another escapee. They are on a case looking for a missing girl who probably also was an escapee. She was eaten at the end.

This is actually two unrelated stories in one; don't look for any kind of connection between them.

One is a cop show trope parody (down to the sex) with one guy made into a robot.

The second is the main plot about a world where clones are sold as food.

Coming halfway in both, Sayman ran out of ideas so he stopped.
