This has been going on way too long and people need to get their shit straight. While it's technically cheating, it is not netorare and it doesn't try to be. Kirito corrupted Asuna and essentially wanted her to cheat on him. Asuna clearly states that she loves Kirito and isn't leaving him anytime soon. The Japanese do not consider netorare to be a genre that is about having your lover cheat on you. It is more or less about the feeling of having a loved one being "stolen" from the protagonist, who usually has the reader's sympathy if the NTR work is doing a decent job. The love doesn't need to be mutual, they don't have to be in a relationship, and the protagonist doesn't have to know it's going on. "Stolen" doesn't necessarily mean that the MC lost the girl (although it often does), but that the MC didn't win the girl and she ended up loving someone else. For whatever reason, people generally assume that the MC gets the girl if the work isn't classified as NTR. So while cheating and netorare tags often go together, they don't always do so.

It's not "real" ntr, but it's definitely the sort of role-play that would qualify a tag.
