It just occured to me that page 7 might contain somewhat of a translation error. That "really?" is the only thing the Homo Sapiens ever says, and it is totally inconsistent wiht the fact that it otherwise appears to be an animal from the point of view of the Neanderthals, as they only hear grunts in his language. I would guess he just makes some kind of sound there in the original? It is in the book version as well though
