Why is it always claimed that netorare only goes one way? I mean, dude, it even says "netori" (which is a variant of netorare) in the title. I can see how this doesn't 'look' like netorare, but come on.

@Yoshi en Verde: I was under the impression from page 9 that the father was either dead or had left them from the "single mom raising her only daughter" comment. I apologize for figuring that she's single by what she said.

On that note, it's also been argued that netori is still netorare even from "your" POV, it's just in the (assumedly empathetic) protagonist's favor (on a secondary thread, "in that case, a good couple hundred Hmanga on here aren't 'netorare' since the person being jilted didn't find out, but they'll forever be tagged as such.").

@Demonlogan: I'll agree with you, that netorare can go both ways, but there's a slight mistake on your idea that this is netorare.

While GRAMMATICALY Netorare and Netori ARE the same, none of them actually refer directly to what is known as Netorare as a Genre...

You see, Netori and Netorare are shortened forms of diferent conjugates of the verb Netoru: Netori comes from Netorimasu, the Masu form (Denoting that SB is stealing SB else's lover), while Netorare comes from Netorareru, the Passive form (Denoting that SB's lover is being stolen from them). The difference is subtle, but it's there...

You see, Netori means you're watching things from the POV of the stealer, while Netorare is seeing things from the eyes of the jilted lover. In genres, this difference is shown by one VERY important fact: The jilted lover NEEDS to find out about the fact (Of course, if he didn't you wouldn't be able to see the stealing from his POV, would you?).

Whenever the lover doesn't find out about the fact during the story, it's simply considered Cheating. Whether they end up being dumped, or humiliated, or used, or whatever, is not in the scope of the story you're reading/watching...

So, the Netori in the title does NOT infer a Netorare scene, but that the Mother is stealing her daughter's lover. The story told here actually infers that they won't fuck up with the daughter (Or the husband), but just keep cheating on the side. Now, if a sequel came out where the girl or the father find out about this? That would turn this into a Netorare story (A pretty vanilla one, unless they start with the humiliation, but one nonetheless)

@Jas0n: I'll second that opinion! This is one author I'm always conflicted about. I love his art, but it's always Guro with a side of Guro, and that REALLY turns me off from his stories

She referred to herself as an aunt despite being the girl's mother, but i'm guessing she means he see's her like an aunt (I dunno), and it said hidding on page 8.

"Aunt" is used there as "someone old", not as actual family relationship. I thought this was a normal usage in English too (refer to older people that are close as aunt/auntie and uncle, despite them having any blood relation.)
The guy and the woman have no blood relation and the woman is just the guy's girlfriend's mother.
