Yep and these kinds of stories(though depending on the artist, it's actually not true if the artist is a well known Vanilla artist.) almost always reach a Bad End.

I'm 85% sure that this story is going to be the same either a Bad or an Ambiguous end that alludes to a Bad End.

My guess based on this particular type of setup looks like it's going to be the notorious

*Indirectly mentally cripples the MC*

*Gives the MC a chance to fix everything once and for all*

*Regardless to if the MC succeeds or not the MC gets snubbed and thus the Bad End*

For me sometimes even when the art is Godlike I just can't stomach the story, it's different when you start a Manga/Doujin and it immediately sells you the Idea that this is NTR/Mindbreak/Hard-S-M/Bullying so you automatically know from the beginning that it's going in that direction and you get somewhat surprised IF it ends up a Good Ending(not Vanilla necessarily just a Good Ending.)

It's a different story when you make the MC a blatant "Cosmic Plaything" and the story is a "Break the Cutie"(in THIS case anyway) that's just going to end up a "Shoot the Shaggy Dog."

NOW, before people think I'm BASHING stories that are ELABORATE and have this story I'm not, but stories like these they have such a shallow feeling that the little "Ride" they take you for feels FAR too fake and you can see the "Bad End" a mile away.

I mean I actually read a Manga that had a story that ended in NTR as I expected it to only for the very next chapter to go "Surprise! NTR Reversal!" and didn't feel FORCED. Keep in mind I pretty much thought the NTR chapter was the LAST and was fine with it so the curve ball was an actual surprise.

But here it's obvious the "Curve Ball" is going to be her "Nii-san" or a "BFF Betrayl". If it ends up like the last manga I mentioned, I'll be surprised.

Outta curiosity what was the name of the doujin that you're referring to that had a surprise ntr reversal?
Would it have happened to be an oreimo doujin, cause I can't remember the specific name but near the end there was a very unexpected moment where the main character appears and well I won't spoil what he does but it was very entertaining to see

And I must say I wholeheartedly agree with your opinion, it's like in oyster's works you always know its gonna end up badly for the girls so it's not really entertaining reading the story unfold all that much (his artwork is superb btw one of my favourites).

I do wish there was a type of ntr reversal (a story that started out a ntr but the main char grows balls and beats the shit outta the antagonist either physically or intellectually)and that it would gain popularity as ntr if not more. Doesn't see that far fetched an idea since there are people who loudly protest their disdain for ntr, ntr reversal should be what they want
