I am always a bit sad at seeing Stephanie Brown (Spoiler, Robin IV, Batgirl IV). Brown really deserved a longer tenure as Batgirl IV (less than a year?). Not only did she earn the position, having fought and bled in the service of the Bat-family as Spoiler, alongside Robin III (Tim Drake); but Brown also honored the overall history of Batgirl, bringing back the adventurous & flirty action-girl style that Barbara Gordon (Batgirl II, Oracle) was known for during her time as Batgirl II in her (Gordon's) youth.

Cassandra Cain (Batgirl III) was also good too, with her incredible combat skills, but counter-balanced by her personal struggles in dealing with her brain-dysfunctions (aphasia, dyslexia, & dysgraphia).

It was a pitifully cheap move to toss both Stephanie Brown and Cassandra Cain into the RetCon trash-bin, just to shoehorn Barbara Gordon back into being Batgirl with the DCnU reboot. :(

This is probably an unpopular opinion, but I would rank the Batgirls:

1) Stephanie Brown
2) Cassandra Cain
3) Barbara Gordon (who is better as Oracle)
