So it turns out that my first real attempt at typesetting is on a Kantai Collection doujin where a girl got snapped in half and got a pantyshot right after.

I based the translation on a partially finished script provided by a kind anon who also provided the raws. Changed several lines and typesetted the thing. Thank him, not me, and continue loving your shipdaughters.

Well, that was some of the most brutal stuff I've ever seen in a doujin. Heck, in any doujin at all! I knew many looked at KanColle like it had a dark side (See Asanagi for instance), but this was just downright brutal! My god. I did come here for a quick jack-off, and seeing the artist, I was expecting artful pictures and good jokes, along with a lighthearted atmosphere like in his elven brise h-manga, but instead I got a total shock and a bad taste in my mouth. I feel bad for the Musume girls now. Like... War and stuff, shit... I'm not good with the realities of war. I mean, there are kids in this army! Like Shimakaze! This... Good lord, this artist, Endou Okito, he sure knows how to portray fear and sadness. If he ever did a horror manga, I think we'd all be scared just by the art. So let's pray he never does one! Still, it's a heartful, emotional story. The sadness of the admiral, and the girls, hurt and missing limbs... Even if they are biomechanic like the aliens in The War of The Worlds, they still have feelings and emotions. I'm just gonna go to bed now and try to sleep. This is heavy. So heavy my boner lost all will to stay hard. Jeezez... I can't even describe it. Poor girls. I actually wanted to try out KanColle, but I think I'll pass. I don't think I can bear the loss...

Oh god, this story was just too well made. It showed just how realistic it could be for the Ship Girls fighting on the front lines. The game might look light but when I read something like this, I see that reality can be brutal. Thank you for the upload. And thank you towards the translator.

I'm with the "how didn't I know of this gem so far?" camp. It seems to mix elements of Kancolle and Arpeggio (the true ships and the corresponding Kanmusus co-exist) plus others of fanon, like the Kanmusus clearly being cyborgs. There's also the idea that if they are too damaged to go back in battle, they are going to get "recycled" and parts of them will live on in new shipgirls, a fate they accept quietly, almost happily. Even without the focus on Murakumo and the young Admiral, it'd be very sad.
