I already said it a few times, but I gladly repeat myself: makio is by far the best artist when it comes to stories that involve drama. None of them revolve on Hentai Logic and they feel very close to home. sometimes a bit too close. He did some Comedy Loli onehsots as well, but I honestly think this more serious tone fits him better. I hope his recent Tankoubon full of feels will get translated soon.

No offence guys but you all doth protest much I think. This story is actually pretty upbeat if you look at it, despite the somber and slightly melodramatic ending.

Sure, the parents divorced and are separating the kids in different towns, but the parents divorced for their own reasons and not because they found out about the twin's relationship. They are both high-school students meaning they are 1-3 years maximum on the verge of becoming emancipated adults meaning they can leave their parents' homes and live together if that's what they wish. Compared to other star-crossed relationships in doujin, romance manga, and literature in general, this one actually has a tremendous amount of hope in their future and the problem of them being separated is almost trivial in comparison to other circumstances.

Again, it's not like there's a terminal illness blocking the chance of their relationship's future, or that one of them is being forced into an arranged marriage, or that their incestual relationship was found out/exposed and their parents/society forbids them from seeing each other. It's merely a separation of 3 years maximum (and its unlikely their parents would force them to stay away from each other during those years anyways, divorcee parents often visit their estranged child) until they graduate and can afford a house/dorm together (which wouldn't turn eyes because plenty of siblings choose to live together as adults, especially in this case where they are twins).

So, all in all I'd say it's rather melodramatic to call this a tragedy and it's actually a very sweet bittersweet story.
