I didn't like it honestly. The canon story handled Touka and Kaneki far better. The art is good, I even liked some parts, but in general I still didn't like it. I don't really like Touka being portrayed as a delicate flower with no bite. Perhaps it's a cultural difference but I never really got the appeal of the wishy washy gentile rape that seems to be a popular idea in a lot of vanilla doujins. As if the idea is that all women want dick but will always pass it by on their own and need to be led to it forcibly against their objections instead, and they'll be thankful for it afterwards. Now that I think about it, it's not a cultural thing, it was in Gone With the Wind too, I guess it's just an outdated view, an extremely old way of thinking. Heh, anyone that liked this and is hoping to see something like this in the actual work is or will be sorely disappointed.
Anyway that's just my subjective personal opinion. Objectively the art is good and the story flows well. The characters are well represented.. as the author sees them. The plot and character interactions just take away from it for me personally, not that either is inherently bad though. I'm sure a great many will like it.
