Given that this is a "sufficiently advanced future", we can assume that existing technologies have capabilities which surpass what we would recognize as possible. What we're witnessing is a hybrid energy collection of heat (from friction and that which naturally occurs inside of an endothermic body) and kinetic energy from the spasmodic muscle activity which results from sex. Walking, for instance, produces around 150 microwatts on average, but it would appear that all of the pilot's limbs are currently being used to operate the machine. A double-piston kinetic energy harvester seems like the most reliable way balance the challenge of recharging the vessel's batteries while maximizing their ability to operate the controls. In a future where a machine like this can operate on a trickle of power (Compare the demand of Babbage machines to that of a Raspberry Pi), this sort of passive energy collection may be more commonplace than just onboard this vessel.
Here's a chart detailing how to build a weaker, modern-day, vagina-operated kinetic energy harvester at home: http://imgur.com/zxv0Dl8
