The designs are so bland compared to manga. Like Lelei no longer having a focused look, or Kuribayashi being a generic tomboy (how does she outperform grown men with a 16yo-like body?!), or Rory's oversimplified outfit. Them budget cuts I reckon.

Also, Yanagida with the looks of a goody-two-shoes? Or Pina's miniskirt outfit? WTF?

Indeed, and that's discounting the side characters and monstergirls (Yanagida, Zorzal, Delilah, Itami's ex-wife etc. etc.) who got extremely moe-fied and younger compared from the LN and original designs.

Also Miyuute is now a green parrot for some reason while in the original source she's a blue-feathered harpy/siren.
