After reading the other chapters of this series from the artist, it appears that yes, Ken-chan/Ken is her son and not her husband. My mistake. All the characters look so young and this was the only chapter I had read, so I assumed it was her husband. The same hair-color should have been a dead give away.
If I translate more of these chapters, I will correct this.
