Watched Macross FB7 the other day; it was jumble of "what the hell man?" Basically, it's just Frontier casts watching Macross 7 from a VIDEO TAPE in Ozma's apartment. No, it's not like the Macross 7 characters send some urgent message to Frontier fleet or something. Ozma and the gang is watching the Macross 7 anime. It's like they intentionally breaking the 4th wall but without any comedy. And, yes, Video tape! not CD or some sort of futuristic media storage. I haven't seen one since 2005 and they still have those in 2059.

Also if you curious of Macross 7, let me give you a short summary: it's too ridiculous even for Macross standard. The only thing that saved Macross 7 from total devastation is the songs are rock n' roll (and they pretty rocked btw) instead of pop.
