This grants her ability to use full barrier power without loosing her life. And to use it not for her own sake but only for stability of Gensokyo and barrier itself. When Marisa showed Reimu how to be a little more human-like, Reimu she started to think more human-like, acted on her own, Yukari took her 'admin rights' and Akyu used this apportunity to act. As for Reimu's GUI - it's Yukari's artifical magic circuit. And from the verty begibning Reimu was not so genious as Kirisame clan thinks. IMO one certain purple lady totaly helped her to become one, lol.

In fact, the whole story has lots of hidden details and hints about many aspects of this alternative version of Gensokyo.

I read it on danbooru back in 2016. And I still think that this is the best non-h Touhou doujin i've ever seen. It's like Touhou, but with heavy jojo vibes or something.
