I agree, other than being lured by amazing artwork such as Carn's, i end up opening and read Netorare manga and doujins with 2 or 3 hopes: 1. it ends with the criminal(s) get tortured in ways that make medieval torture an anecdote for toddlers with the protagonist getting a compensation lovely scene with forgiveness and reassurement that he'll never let anything happen to her again; 2. the often dense and wimpy bf actually mans up and protects/defends his beloved before shit gets out of control; 3. at the very least maybe the story won't be too disturbing to the point of breaking a massive boner that otherwise the great artwork could have sustained

Well the ending is certainly cruel, but moreover, I think it's just out of place.
The writer could have easily cut that part out, maybe show the rapists blackmailing her or something.
The dark [coloring] tones of that last page are an inappropriate contrast to the rest of the relatively lighter tones of every page before it, granted the subject matter was still "dark," yet it worked just fine without the literal dark tones.
I mean just look at that bondage shit and the awkward square framing: you can barely recognize it's even her!
It makes sense the rapists might take her some place where they could get away with equipment like that after they were done on the beach, but it's not necessary and still a jarring afterthought that breaks the consistency of the story.
