I've seen some rewrites on the site sure, a lot of them bad, but some good. I think the best ones are those that don't take themselves too seriously. I did that with the other rewrite I've made.

There is no need for rewrites. They are shit and always will be. There's already the default language of the story and then you translate it into another language. A rewrite is a lie. Someone will see it and thinks, oh hey english (or whatever language they want to read it in) only to find out lol it's a rewrite. It's a pretty shitty thing to do trick people like that. Like clickbait articles.

It's always a valid reason to remove it. There is no reason to clog up the database with something that is not needed in the first place. If you want to create fanfiction cause you need writing pratice that's perfectly fine. But don't put your crappy story over someone eles's work.

@sonictmp, No, people will see the 'rewrite' tag and the [rewrite] in the title, and unless they are a moron, they will think 'oh hey, rewrite', if you were tricked, then you are a clown.

You need to learn what 'valid' means, a valid reason to remove something is when the rules say so. You have noticed that the previous expunge petition was removed, that is why you have started a new one, a new one will not be any more successful, and you may be banned for making multiple false requests.

@sonictmp I wouldn't go that far. Like Mrsuperhappy and I said earlier, there's a tag for rewrites and the word is also in the title for most of them.

Of the two rewrites I've written - this unfinished one included - both a more comedic take on the work or poke fun at some of the conventions of the genre, "hentai logic". Personally, I don't see any problem with something like that. In a way, that resembles an abridged series without shortening the source material. Though, you may not like abridged series' for the same reasons you've stated, so my argument is moot...

Whether its a rewrite or not, I think the work should be judged by its quality, not what it is. I'm getting the feeling more than a few people saw the word "rewrite" in the title then automatically formed a bias and down-voted/down-stared?. Maybe people really did hate this rewrite that much, I dunno. I have no way of knowing for sure, so it is what it is.

The quality to be judged in the DIRECT TRANSLATION. You'd never get away with changing the entire story in any other material like movies, books or video games. But it's ok here in h-manga? No. Have some damn standards. A rewrite is basically putting words in anothers mouth and defending it is stupid.

Let's break this down to what this - being my rewrite - essentially is, fanfiction of hentai. Is having this long, drawn out discussion really worth your time? While you were arguing with me you could have left the rewrite you despise so much and gone looking for the original version, of which I have left in the description.

There is nothing wrong with rewrites. It doesn't invalidate the original version, and they can be easily avoided if you so choose to do so.
